Homework: p. 41
              Spelling test is tomorrow!
Individual pictures are tomorrow.  If you would like to buy pictures, please bring in your money tomorrow.  I already have many order forms so if you sent in you money earlier in the week, don't worry.

We have had a caterpillar since the beginning of school and it went into its chrysalis about 10 days ago.  We have all been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our butterfly.  I started to realize that something may have gone wrong and I think it did.  Luckily, my friend, who I find the caterpillars with, had one that was still a chrysalis and brought it to us.  On her way to school the chrysalis 'hatched'!  The kids were so excited to see the butterfly!  He/she was ready to be let go so we went out to the reading garden and put it on a flowering plant.  Hopefully it will have a good trip to Mexico for the winter!

Everyone brought home an invitation to a birthday party for a boy in 2A today.  It made me realize that this would be a good time to review the school policy on sending invitations into school to be handed out so here it goes!

First of all, of course you are allowed to have any party you want for your child and invite whomever you want.  But....if you want your child to give out the invitations at school you must either invite the whole class (it can just be 2B, not the whole second grade) or if you have a girl, invite all of the girls or if you have a boy, invite all of the boys.  Once again, it can just be the boys or girls from 2B, not the whole second grade.
The invitations will not be given out if these rules are not followed.  Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
I tried explaining this to the kids today but quite often they don't get it and come home saying all sorts of crazy things!!
I hope this clears up any confusion and if you have any questions, please let me know.

I can't believe it is almost the end of the third week already!  The kids are really starting to work hard so be sure that they are getting enough sleep!  They are a great class and I know we are going to have an excellent year! Have a fantastic evening!
